Message from the Mission Leadership Team
What an exciting time to be at St. Peter! This ministry year we have refocused our mission to serve as a Great Commission church. Our goal is to be actively engaged as a mission outpost in our community so that we may share Christ’s love with all people.
We are committed to worship, education and service, and we offer something for everyone -- whether you are age 2 or 93! On Sundays, we begin our time together with Sunday School, offering age-appropriate study, discussion and activities for children, youth and adults. After fellowship, we gather by the Cross as the body of Christ for worship which is rich with musical and visual expressions of praise.
During the week there are numerous Bible study groups for youth and adults that enrich our understanding of God’s word and enable us to grow in faith. There are also many outreach, service and fellowship activities, from sewing quilts for Lutheran World Relief, to making books of the Bible in Braille for countries around the world, to helping out at our local food pantry; from a community Easter egg hunt, to outings for OWLS (Older Wiser Living Saints), to service projects in Mishawaka, Chicago and Mexico.
Since 1847, St. Peter has been part of the Michiana community. Today, those who worship here come from different regions across the United States and Canada. We are united as children of God who listen to God’s word, heed His calling and do His will in these times.
On behalf of the St. Peter congregation, the Mission Leadership Team welcomes you to St. Peter and invites you to experience our community of faith!
We are glad you are here with us and welcome you to join us in this mission!
