Suicide Prevention and Loss
St. Peter seeks to help prevent suicide and support suicide loss survivors by:
Partnering with our local Suicide Prevention Center. The SPC hosts events for the community, including the Yellow Ribbon Prevention campaign in our local schools. They also can help match individuals with resources. Find them at: https://www.facebook.com/SJCsuicideprevention/ |
Hosting the International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day.
Each year in November, survivors around the world who have lost a loved one to suicide gather locally with other survivors for support. Our local event features a keynote speaker, a short film on surviving loss from the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), and safe and supportive small group discussions led by local professionals. Visit afsp.org in October for the current year's event. |
